whenever i use rollers, i damp my hair and then put the roller in and take them out in the morning but my hair is so curled that my hair is up to my ears! lol. how do i curl my hair with rollers and keep my hair the same length? i want my hair to be curled just at the ends and does anybody have any tips to give me on how to curl my hair when ive got really annoying layers init? How to curl hair using rollers?
Pull your hair into a ponytail, then dampen the free ends, and place curlers there.
Use bigger size rollers than you've been using, maybe.
If you've been using the pin-in kind, they have to be rolled right to the scalp to secure, try looking for some that have the snap-on clasps or clamps, or the pink foam rollers with the snap-over piece, those can be placed in hair anywhere, no need to roll them right to the scalp, and experiment with how far you roll them up the hair, until you find the perfect spot.
Good luck! How to curl hair using rollers?
use different sizes big and small alll over.. do it in the morning, get heated rollers and heat them up and then put them in for 10-15 minutes.
I had my hair done this way for my wedding, washed and set on rollers. I had them in overnight and when they were removed the next day i looked like a poodle, needless to say panick set in. Maybe you should try curling tongs or some bigger rollers,my hair was pinned up off my face so the shorter layers weren't really seen just the longer length at the back.
Curling your hair will always make it a little shorter, but based on what you've said I think you might have better luck with a curling iron. It would give you more control over how much of your hair you curl (just the ends if you want) and it's also a bit faster. Sleeping on rollers doesn't sound fun!
If you would prefer to use rollers, I recommend using hot rollers so you can just leave them in for a few minutes. If you roll dry hair with big rollers, the curls will be looser--with small rollers and damp hair they will be tighter. Good luck!
Im sorry if this seems rude but i just had to laugh when you said that it ends up curled up to your ears coz that has happened to me before it is just like a big boof of hair. I usually use hot rollers and then i get this effect. So what i do to help it is take them out a couple of hours before you want to go out so they fall a bit and then i spray them with hairspray when they have settled down a little and i am happier with the length. I also find that if i use the ones where you have damp hair, i put them in about 3 hours before i want to go out and i hair dry them. Again wait to spray till they have fallen. They should fall naturally or you could always cumb them a bit and twirl where you need too if it goes to fluffy.
divide hair into 3 sections.
below the ear
the crown (top of your head to the round of the head)
middle (the rest of it)
place rollers vertically with no elevation. hold the hair down and roll sideways.
do it on dry hair at night or with hot rollers in the morning.
