Help on curling my hair?

i have never curled my hair with rollers (is that what they are called?) my hair is about 3 inches past shoulder length and EXTREMELY thick. i want big, relaxed curls, so what should i use? (i don't want to use a curling iron, i always burn myself, lol) thanks for all the help :) oh, and how would i even go about curling my hair with rollers in the first place? i am clueless!Help on curling my hair?
1)Wait 24 hours after washing your hair. Keeping hair oily makes it easier to stay in the curl. If you must wash it, such as if your hair gets unbearably greasy, use only a very small amount of shampoo, and do not condition it.

Make time to curl your hair. If you want your hair curly the next day, start curling it the night before. Oftentimes, curls need time to ';set.';

2) Dampen your hair. If it is thick and stubborn, make it wetter, but it shouldn't be so loaded with water that it's dripping. Use a spray bottle filled with water as it'll allow you to better control the wetness.

3) Apply a product to help hold the curl, making sure to avoid applying any on the scalp or roots because it might weigh it down too much. Mousse, gel, and hairspray are most commonly used. Try different products and brands. This step is optional, though, because some people find that they don't need products at this stage, especially if their hair has natural volume or waves.

4) Get a strand of hair.

5) Fold the roller in half.

6) Put the hair in between the roller.

7) Hold the roller up towards the ceiling and hold the top of it together, and pull the roller up to the scalp.

8) Begin wrapping the hair around the roller.

9) When you are at the end, fold the roller down so the hair will stay around the roller.

10) Apply a spritz of hairspray.

11) Leave in for a approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on how curly you want it.

12) Unfold the end of the roller, and untwist the hair and you should have a pretty curl in your hair!

hope i could help!!Help on curling my hair?
Try the rollers you have to wear overnite they hurt but its worth it!:)
The best thing that works for me is using jumbo foam rollers..you can get them for a 1.50$ at a dollar store. wash your hair, then put them in over night..take em out in the morning and VOILA`.....

to use rollers, you take little peices of your hair and roll around foam, then shut the clip thing..its pretty self explanotory!

hope this helps!!
To get star curls, i use the revlon curling set. You can buy them at Rite Aid and other drug stores. They come in 3 sizes large, medium, and small for all areas of your hair. They all are in a container which you plug in and heats them, curling your hair fast and wonderfully.
To get big curls, you need mousse, a curl holding product so that they will stay (tresseme has a wonderful curl spray that holds all day) a curling iron about 2'; (or you could curl it with a straightener or not curl it at all, just put the rollers in wet hair) and rollers 2 1/2 to 3'; depending on what kind of curl you want.

You can watch this video, it uses rollers with a curling iron, but you can replace it with a flat iron and curl your hair with that:
